Continous paper jam and constant ink smear said our client when we drop by his office to check his printer. The HP laserjet 2420 has been operating smoothly all this while when it started giving problem. This is our findings as we remove the printer case to find the fault, you can easily notice the difference.

The bush is the item that pushes the paper close to the sleeve to heat up the black dye onto the paper. When its worn out, the ink doesn't stay on the paper, and the paper is loose during printing, which will cause the paper to stuck in the printer when we print many copies at once.

A shrunken sleeve roller

Whereas the sleeve itself has shrunken in size causing the paper not to properly stick to the roller while printing. By obtaining these spare parts from our HP supplier, we replace the faulty units and run some tests. The printer is functioning well.
