Using FRING to voice chat over the internet
I used this application for my Nokia E72, and its really great. But most of all, its great coz its FREE!
FRING is better than Skype coz its a light weight app for Nokia. It doesn't jam the phone up. And it offers skype type of voice calls, called VOIP. Its clear even on EDGE conections and gets betted over 3G connections. It merges all your Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk and Skype contact list. So if you have the same contacts in MSN and Yahoo, FRING merges them into one contact that can use either MSN or Yahoo to make voice calls or chat. That way it becomes less confusing.
Best of all is that you can make video calls to contacts on skype using skype protocols. I say its very good because you can save a lot on calls to friends that have nokia handphones or any phone that supports FRING.
Please contact me if you need help installing or setting up FRING, maybe we can meet up.

How to resolve DCP 145c scanner issue in Ubuntu 10.04? Error device `brother3:bus2;dev1' ...
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04. I must say, it feels great! Wonderful themes ans wallpaper. But my DCP 145c didn't work out of the box. I had to --install-- it.
Unfortunately, similar to my 9.04 version, I couldn't get the DCP 145C scanner to work. Even after installing it from Brother's linux support page.
If you are like me, already installed printer and scanner drivers from Brother's Linux driver site and then still got the Error device `brother3:bus2;dev1' , you can either go this webpage and follow the instructions:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/instructio...
or you can do the following actions.
- 1. Open "/lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules" file.
- 2.Add the following two lines to the end of the device list. (Before the line "# The following rule will disable ..."):
The lines to be added---------------------------
-
# Brother scanners
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
- 3. Restart the OS.
It worked for me! If you're a newbie and need additional steps, please email me at farihin@gmail.com or farihin@megacomputers.com.my.

How to draw traffic to your site?
Wow! We're excited because we got a letter from Google. Of course their asking us to advertise with them, but who gets letters from Google?!
Will they did acknowledge that our site gets average hits of 23,845. I think that's good enough. We've also gotten many inquiries ever since our site hit that number of visitors per month. Well don't you wanna know how we did it?
Firstly, you'll a CMS website, like Joomla, Drupal, etc. You would wanna update your companies activites quite often.
Then, use Google Webmaster Tool to let Google' Search Engine crawlers to crawl your site.
Thirdly, setup a sitemap, so that your page can jump higher up the list.
Fourthly, always try to place genuine articles that are contemporary, coz people in desperation really need answers to their problems. So the more you can help solve the problems, the better you site gets.
Follow these simple rules, and you should be on your way too. By the way, I'm not taking up Google's offer for professional reasons. I hope I've helped someone. Please register with us and leave us a comment, so that we can gauge whether are we doing a good job or not. ;-)
